Hosting Your Home – Compelling Stories from Airbnb hosts and guests.
Everybody loves a story and we are no different! As our relationship with other Airbnb hosts and the sharing economy grows, we find everyday people doing extraordinary things. We love hearing about how people host their homes and their experiences with their guests, and decided to explore some of these stories and share them. Through these interviews we hope that more people may gain an appreciation for the type of travel that brings hosts and guests together.
We have heard stories of hospitality that astound us and make us marvel over the motivation. What is it that drives these hosts to make the guest experience great? Good reviews are welcome, but this drive goes much deeper. If anything is an indicator of how important these hosts are as ambassadors to our cities, it is their drive to connect with their guests and provide the best possible experience.
As hosts, guests, and human beings we can lower cultural barriers, making friends and sharing powerful experiences using this simple travel method.
We are not employees of Airbnb. We just really appreciate the company’s model, and principals that encourage personal travel connections. What you hear in our podcast is unbiased and freely shared, from the heart.
About Us | Debi & Rob Hertert
Superhosts Debi & Rob are a husband and wife team, married since the Stone Age of the ’70’s. We own four vacation rental properties, 3 on the Central Oregon Coast and one in Portland; the beach properties have been listed on Airbnb since 2009. Together we organized the local Home Share PDX meetup group, and Debi along with friend & fellow co-host Nancy Scott created and moderates the thriving Portland Area Airbnb Hosts Facebook page. Our podcast “Hosting Your Home” became live in April of 2016, with Debi being the intrepid host/interviewer and Rob being the handsome technical support. We also created the supporting Hosting Your Home Facebook page which is open to world-wide membership. We are thrilled to be engaged with not only our local community, but with the growing Airbnb family around the globe.
We love what we do, we love sharing our homes, we love talking with other hosts, and the best part is getting to meet people and interact with them in a fun and positive way. We embrace the Sharing Economy, as it enhances our own travel to see our children, grandchildren and the world. We would love to meet you too!
